Recently, the EPA made the announcement that they will push to extend their emissions standards up until the year 2025.
This announcement was based on extensive research stating that the current emissions standards are being met faster than expected, and they are working toward preventing global warming, saving consumers’ money, and reducing the usage of fossil fuels.
According to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, “It’s clear from the extensive technical record that this program will remain affordable and effective.”
These standards began in 2012, and each car manufacturer managed to meet their standards by the end of 2015.
