A test drive is a valuable tool for getting as much information as possible about a new vehicle before taking it off the lot as your own. That being said, there are many considerations to make during the all-important test drive.
A few things to keep in mind as you go in for a test drive include:
- Test drive a vehicle that is exactly what you’re considering for purchase: engine size, model year, etc.
- Make sure the driving route is similar to type of driving you do everyday.
- Note the vehicle’s acceleration and braking. Make sure that each is smooth and not too sensitive for your taste.
- Notice how well the vehicle handles and responds to steering.
- Make sure visibility is optimal and that interfering road noise is at a tolerable level.
- Take note of cargo space and technology features and decide whether or not they will suit your needs.
