If you are a Jeep lover, the thought of a newly manufactured vehicle that resembles the 2005 Jeep Gladiator pickup probably has you quite excited! Fiat Chrysler announced they are planning to begin production in 2017 or 2018.
Could this idea solve some problems for Fiat’s CEO Sergio Machionne? First of all, Chrysler’s oldest factory in Toledo, Ohio is maxed out in space. The tentative plan is to move the production of Jeep Cherokees to a new location, allowing more room to manufacture the new pickup in Toledo.
With lower gas prices right now, SUV’s and pick-ups are booming in sales and Marchionne could use this as an opportunity to tap into this thriving market. Does a new Jeep appeal to you? Would this be a consideration as your lifestyle vehicle of choice?
One of Sergio’s most memorable quotes is “Mediocrity is not worth the trip.” This new Jeep will most likely surpass any form of mediocrity!
