There’s a fine line between saving things for a rainy day and the inability to get rid of something altogether.
Case in point: the not-uncommon scenario of a mother who is unable (or unwilling) to toss her child’s old school notebook in the trash.
In a recent satirical article from The Onion, a mother discovers a long unused binder filled with papers (over a decade old and clearly no longer needed), but offers to send it to her child before deciding to keep it until it can be gone through.
“RACINE, WI—Concerned that you might be upset if she were to get rid of it without permission, your mother reportedly called Wednesday to ask if she could throw away your three-ring binder from middle school. ‘Hi honey, I just wanted to check in and see if I can throw out this binder I found when I was cleaning out your closet, the one with the dark blue cover and your name written in marker on the back,’ said your mom.”
What lesson can we glean from this fictional (but all too realistic) story?
As Mother’s Day approaches, it could remind us that moms will always have our interests at heart – or it could indicate just how important a well-made binder can be. Granted, the binder in question is more than likely a generic 3-ring binder like those found at your local office supply store.
However, if these binders can stand the test of time, just imagine what a professional, custom designed binder can do for your business!
